Second INDEGA visit to Thailand
For the second time, the INDEGA involved with a joint stand on the important for the Southeast Asian region horticulture trade fair HortiAsia in Bangkok. Unfortunately, only four companies were represented at the well and strikingly designed as a German national representative from the exhibition organizer joint stand.
In addition to Germany, three other country representatives in China, Taiwan and the Netherlands showed flag and presented the 4,800 visitors from 40 countries presented their offers. The internationality of the fair also made clear the 110 exhibitors from 13 different countries. However, the sheer number of exhibitors declined slightly, what the organizers want to reverse through a change of approach in the next year. You want to supplement the show with a high-quality, international framework seminar program. The organizers have the INDEGA warmly invited to actively participate in it.
The most important change, however, will be a realignment involving the exhibitor area “Agriculture”. The HortiAsia is held simultaneously with the AgriAsia from May 17 to 19 again in Bangkok BITEC Exhibition Centre. It is hoped thereby for example in the area of plant protection to a larger interest of “global players”. A growing market segment in crop production in Thailand is also the biological production of food. This segment will cover the exhibitors in the coming year.
The success of the HortiAsia2014 with direct sales accounts and excellent contacts to the entire Southeast Asian region sparked at this year's German trade fair participants, at least for consideration from trying to stay on the ball here. “The Horti Asia was good for us,” says Jürgen von den Driesch for Brandkamp seedlings. “We have had numerous contacts from Thailand, which led some of them already in firm orders.” Even with gardeners from the neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, Vietnam and other close contacts were developed. “General was the level and quantity of visitors very well and we have achieved more than we previously expected,” he concluded.
In a similar lack of interest as this year however, it will be no INDEGA community stand more. Then the interested companies would be required to rent than own business a stand.
